I hope the translations are correct, if not please email me so I can make any necessary repairs. I hope to add drawings soon, having just moved I will need some time. Jelena woke the next morning to noises above her head on top of the hill. She got dressed and went outside to have a look. Everyone was setting up tables and tents. Some of the neighbors came to help. There were small hobbit children running around, Astaldo running along side wagging his tail. The children took great joy in the huge dog, even going so far as to ride on his back.

"You must be Jelena," a hobbit girl said to her. My name is Diamond. I am a… friend of Pippin's," she said.

"It's nice to meet you, Diamond," Jelena said. She was worried about what the girl might think of her face. "You'll have to forgive my appearance…"

"Do not worry! We heard about your attack and how you stabbed that elf. You are very brave!" she said. "I probably would have died!" Astaldo bounced by with a hobbit boy clinging to his back, making the girls laugh. "That's my baby brother. He loves your dog."

Astaldo seems to enjoy playing with the children!" Jelena said.

Merry came back with his parents, Esmeralda and Saradoc. They both gave her big hugs and kisses, welcoming her to the family. Jelena began to feel better about the idea of a party.

Legolas was ready to go before the sun rose. He rushed Haldir and Lirimaer to their already packed horses. "Did you sleep at all, Legolas?" Lirimaer said yawning.

"It doesn't matter! If we hurry, we can be there by dark!" He was off in a shot.

They rode most of the day, taking a break once by a river to water the horses. Their horses were growing tired. Legolas continually tried to urge his horse on, but the animal would not go any faster. "Legolas, give your horse a break! He is tired. Do not try to push him. He has brought you a long way in a short time," Haldir said. Legolas patted his horse on the neck and eased his speed to a walk. It was late in the afternoon.

The party was going along fine. There was about fifty or so hobbits that showed for the celebration. Jelena met each and every one of them, all of them telling her how brave she was for battling the elf. There were too many for her to keep track of all their names. Several hobbits brought instruments with them and played music while the others danced. Enormous grills had been set up and more and more food was cooked. Large barrels of ale were also set up and many pitchers were being filled and emptied and filled again. Torches were lit when it began to get dark so the festivities could continue.

Gandalf had a few surprises of his own "Fireworks!" Sam cheered. "Gandalf has some fireworks!" A loud explosion went off in the air, raining yellow red and blue sparks down on the partiers, zigzagging as they fell. Gandalf sent off a few more rockets, some exploding into brilliant flowers, some were like flocks of birds soaring through the air, and others were like butterflies fluttering around their heads. Jelena had never seen anything like them before. She clapped after each rocket flew and continued until the last spark faded.

They were riding along when they saw the colorful lights in the sky. They were coming from up ahead. "Just a little farther my friend," Legolas said to his horse, urging him on. After a while the three could hear the sounds of music playing. They rounded the corner and saw the torchlight and lots of hobbits dancing on top of a hill. Legolas recognized Gandalf and jumped from his horse.

The hobbits were having such a good time that they did not hear the horses approach. One of the musicians stopped playing when they saw Legolas running towards them. He stood up and pointed towards the elf. The other musicians stopped playing. The hobbits all turned around to see what was going on. Legolas quickly climbed the hill and ran to Gandalf. "Gandalf!" he yelled.

"Legolas! What are you doing here?" Gandalf said.

Jelena couldn't see what was going on from where she was sitting. She stood up and looked towards the direction all the hobbits were looking. Gandalf was standing there with his back to her. Then she saw two very familiar faces. It was Haldir and Lirimaer walking towards Gandalf. Jelena made her way through the hobbits. "Haldir! Lirimaer!" she yelled to them above the murmur of the hobbits. When Gandalf turned, Jelena could not believe her eyes. Legolas was standing in front of him!

Legolas heard Jelena's voice. He looked behind Gandalf and saw her standing there surrounded by hobbits. He made his way through the crowd. Jelena pushed her way through to reach him. Legolas grasped her by the shoulders. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"I have come to ask for your forgiveness. I should have left with you that day." He ran his hand through her hair.

"There is nothing to forgive," she said, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I can't believe you are really here!" she said.

Legolas looked at her face. "What has happened to you?" he asked. His fingers gently ran over the bruises and cuts, his eyes tearing up.

"It does not matter!" she said, hugging him tight and crying against his chest. "All that matters is that you are here!"

Legolas gently lifted her chin and wiped away her tears. He placed tender kisses all over her face. "We will never again be apart!" he said, taking her mouth with his. His tongue parted her lips and found hers. Jelena moaned into his mouth, lost in its sweetness. All around her the hobbits cheered. Legolas and Jelena looked around at the partygoers, both of their faces flushed.

"Everyone! Please welcome Legolas, Haldir and Lirimaer," Gandalf shouted above the cheering. "And let's continue with the party, shall we?" All the hobbits cheered some more and the music began to play once again.

Legolas led Jelena over to a bench with Haldir and Lirimaer following. He sat her down and noticed her wincing in pain. "What has happened to you my love?" Legolas asked, taking Jelena's hands. He held them to his lips kissing the palms. He saw the red marks around her wrists. "Who did this to you?" Legolas demanded, holding up her hands.

"It was Maeldir," she said. Legolas' face grew red with rage. She pulled his hands to her chest. "He is dead. He will not hurt me again!" She touched his cheek where fresh tears began to flow. "Do not cry! I will be fine!"

"I should have been with you!" he cried putting his head in her lap. "None of this would have happened if I were with you! I should have killed Maeldir when I had the chance! But my father stopped me! My father! He has caused us so much pain!" he said, hugging Jelena to him. "Never again will I let him hurt us!"

"It is all in the past now! We are together now." Jelena looked over at Haldir and Lirimaer. They sat there quiet and smiling at the two lovers. "It is wonderful to see you both again," she said.

"And you, my dear," Lirimaer said.

Jelena pulled on Legolas' arms to get him to sit down on the bench next to her. She looked over at Lirimaer and Haldir. "Did you tell him?" she asked.

"No. We thought we would leave it up to you," Haldir said.

"Tell me what?" Legolas asked.

Gandalf lit off more fireworks. The air sparked with green leaves falling to the ground. Jelena leaned over and whispered into Legolas' ear while taking his hand. She placed it on her growing stomach. Legolas looked at her with questioning eyes. He looked down at his hand and traced the swollen bump on her stomach. He looked into her eyes. His eyes sparkled and a smile played on the corners of his mouth. It spread across his face from ear to ear. He pulled Jelena into his arms. "A father! I am going to be a father!" he laughed; tears of joy spilling down both of their faces.

He hugged her tight and a moan escaped her throat. He held her back and noticed she had gone pale. "What is it, Jelena?"

"My ribs. Some of my ribs are broken."

Anger was all over Legolas' face. He said a curse in elvish to Maeldir and picked her up. "Is everything all right, my dear?" Paladin said. He was standing nearby with Eglantine and her aunt Esmeralda.

"She is hurting," said Legolas.

"Follow me," Paladin said, leading them down a path and to the door. "Her room is down the hall, Legolas. I have a room for you two if you would like to freshen up from your trip," he said, following behind Legolas.

Haldir banged his head on one of the beams. Lirimaer put her hand on his mouth. "Don't say it!" she laughed. Haldir pulled her hand away and rubbed his head. They crouched down and followed the hobbit to their room.

Legolas set Jelena down on the bed and closed the door. He untied her dress in the front and carefully lifted it over her head. She was bandaged up tight. He took out his knife and cut the bandages away. Legolas closed his eyes when he saw the bruises. He looked at the bruises that Maeldir's fingers had made on her arms, tracing over them with his fingers. She had bruises on both of her breasts and down her ribs. His eyes continued down to her stomach, stopping to look at where his child was growing. Then he saw the bruises on her thighs and looked up at her, his eyebrows knitted together searching her eyes.

Jelena tried covering herself with her arms, feeling embarrassed of Legolas' scrutiny of her body. She looked down where Legolas gently touched a large bruise that ran between her legs. She was afraid to look up at him. She felt his tears falling on her legs and heard him crying. "I will never forgive myself for not being here with you!" Legolas cried. "You have been through so much in your life and now this! It has been one hardship after another for you! And then to be raped by that… that…" He couldn't continue.

"It is not your fault, Legolas! Please! You must let it go! He is dead…"

p "But what he did to you!"

"And he has paid dearly for it. I fought him off. He never got the chance to… I stabbed him with his own knife and Pippin finished him off." She lifted up his chin and wiped away his tears. "Do not punish yourself, Legolas," she said, smiling at him. She kissed him on the mouth. She looked at his face. "You are exhausted. You need sleep." She stood up and pulled back the sheets and climbed into bed. She patted the bed next to her. "I'm sorry the bed is a bit small," she laughed, her own feet hanging over the end.

Legolas smiled and took off his tunic and leggings and climbed into the tiny bed next to her. He snuggled up against her body and rested his hand on her stomach. "This must have happened our first night together," he said. He rubbed her belly feeling the small bump below his hand. He suddenly sat up. "How far along are you?" he asked.

"I'm not really sure. A bit over two months I think," she said.

"Two months! And you're showing this much already?" Legolas snickered. "Maybe there are two babies in there!"

"Bite your tongue, Legolas Greenleaf!" she laughed, poking him. She looked him in the eyes. "I love you very much, Legolas."

"And I love you, Jelena," he said, kissing her. He snuggled back against her and rested his hand back over his child. They quickly fell asleep in each other's arms.

Haldir and Lirimaer stopped outside Jelena's room. All was quiet. Haldir was about to knock when Lirimaer grabbed his arm. "Leave them be," she said, taking him by the hand. "Let's go outside and join the party." She led him down the hallway. "Haldir?"

"Yes my love?"

"Watch your head!"

"Very funny!" he said smacking her on the butt.
