Notes: While writing this, I followed the Tolkien's books and the two movies and made up a few things as well. My timeline does not coincide with the books, only to try to keep things short! I hope the translations are correct, if not please email me so I can make any necessary repairs. I hope to add drawings soon, having just moved I will need some time. I hope you enjoy my first fan fic I've ever written, please let me know what you think! This fan fic was also part of the www.haldir-lives.org Fan Fic Challenge.
Things were relatively quiet for the next week. Legolas allowed Jelena out of bed after the third day. She stayed in her room unless she was in the company of Legolas or Haldir for fear of running into Thranduil. She never wanted to see him again, along with Maeldir. Legolas kept the troops busy in the forest. They drove away the spiders from the outskirts of the city and killing anything foul in their path.
All his free time he spent with his friends and Jelena. He wanted more than anything to make passionate love to her but he was worried about her health. There was also the fact that she wanted to go to the Shire. After all that had happened between them, he still hoped she could find a life there and settle down and be happy. A life without him, except in friendship. He knew he could never offer her what she deserved. The events that took place in his absence proved it to him beyond a doubt. In the Shire she would be safe.
About ten days after Legolas' return, two strangers on horseback made their way through the city toward the Elvenking Halls. They were blonde and fair, wearing the colors of the elves of Lórien. They made their way across the bridge to the gates. "We have come with a message for King Thranduil from Lord Celeborn," one of them said, his eyes a piercing blue and familiar to the guard. The other elf had similar features, but was slightly smaller in build. The guard granted them entrance and took their horses.
They walked down the long passageway to Thranduil's Hall and stood in the archway to be announced. Who they saw sitting on the throne startled them. "King… Legolas?" joked Orophin, and Rúmil was right beside his brother, the two quickly closing the gap to greet their friend.
Legolas looked up from a scroll he was reading. "Mae govannen! What are you two doing here?" asked Legolas, clapping his friends on the shoulder.
"We have brought a message to give to your father from Lord Celeborn," said Rúmil. "We figured we could come and say hello to our brother as well. We had no idea you would still be here."
"Neither did I," said Legolas. The two brothers noted the sadness in their friend's voice. "I will tell you about it over something to eat. You must be hungry. Come with me to the kitchens and we'll see what we can dig up for you!" Legolas told them about Jelena, about the mess that had occurred while he was gone and about the deal he had made with his father. Orophin and Rúmil sat there silent.
"A lot has happened to you since you returned," said Orophin. "This girl must be very special. I am the only one amongst my brothers who hasn't found true love yet," he said, poking Rúmil in the ribs.
Rúmil's face flushed. "I am not in love!" he said. "Besides, I don't even think she know that I exist."
"Sure she does! I see the way she looks at you. If you would just talk to her instead of running away…"
"I do not run away from her!" Rúmil fired back at his brother.
"Who is she?" asked Legolas.
"She is a cousin of Lord Celeborn, Nevdilien is her name," said Orophin. "Look, his cheeks color at the mere mention of her name! That is love, my dear brother!" Rúmil punched his brother in the arm, but there was no hiding the grin on his face. Orophin and Rúmil heard familiar laughter coming into the room. It was Lirimaer. They both jumped to their feet.
"Haldir! Lirimaer!" they both shouted in unison. "Gimli!" they said, seeing the dwarf behind their brother. "It is good to see you as well."
"Master Orophin, Master Rúmil," Gimli said, bowing low to the two brothers. Next to Legolas, these two brothers were the only other elves he really liked, besides of course, Lady Galadriel. And he liked their antics, especially when they were aimed at Haldir.
"What are the two of you doing here?" asked Haldir.
"We were sent by Lord Celeborn to deliver a message. We thought it would be good to see our brother and his lovely wife," Orophin said, winking at Lirimaer.
"We also brought a message for Lirimaer from Vuranor," said Rúmil, handing a small scroll to her.
Lirimaer quickly read it. "Vuranor and Alfirin are to be wed in two weeks!" Lirimaer said. 1 "They have invited us to join them in Rivendell." Lirimaer looked at her husband, her eyes pleading. She hadn't been to Rivendell since she left to go to Lorien. 2
"How long will you be staying here, brothers?" Haldir asked.
"We cannot stay more than a day. We have our duties to get back to in Lórien," said Orophin.
"I need you to tell the Lord and Lady that we will be extending our time away so that I may escort my dear wife to Rivendell." Lirimaer threw her arms around Haldir's neck and gave him a kiss. Haldir wrapped his arms about her waist and returned a more passionate kiss than the peck she had given him.
"Oh will you two get a room!" Rúmil laughed.
"Where is Jelena?" asked Legolas. Usually she was with Haldir, Lirimaer or Gimli.
"She wanted to stay in her room. She said she was tired," Lirimaer said, then biting her tongue. But it was too late. Legolas was on his feet and heading for the passageway. "Legolas, she is fine!"
"It looks like someone else is in love as well," said Orophin, jabbing at Rumil.
Haldir and Lirimaer gave Rumil a surprised look. "Do tell, brother," Haldir said smiling.

"I am fine, Legolas!" Jelena said. Legolas had stormed in, looking into her eyes and feeling her forehead. "I'm just a little tired, that's all."
"Are you sure?" he asked with great concern.
"Yes. I just get tired in the afternoon the past few days. It is nothing. I feel much better after a short nap," she said. She hadn't been feeling right the past few days but didn't want to get Legolas upset. He had enough on his mind lately. She still wasn't herself from being almost starved to death. Some more time to recover and she would be right as rain, she figured.
"Well some special guests have arrived. Get your rest and you will meet them tonight." He kissed her on the mouth, and wanted more. "Are you sure that you are all right?"
"Go!" Jelena said, pointing to the door. She got into bed and fell asleep with the memory of Legolas' kiss on her lips. She had been missing the closeness they had before he went away. Now he acted like she would break if she touched her. She would have to make some changes to that, she thought just before she fell asleep with a smile on her face.

Legolas came back a while later and knocked gently on the door. He opened the door to find Jelena awake and getting ready for dinner. She was standing naked facing the bed with her gown spread out in front of her on the bed. Legolas swallowed hard. "I'm sorry, I didn't…"
She turned and faced him, a smile on her face. She held out a hand to him. "Come here, Legolas." He walked slowly across the room, his heart hammering in his chest. He wanted her so bad, but the thougths of her in the Shire kept pounding into his brain. He knew he couldn't…shouldn't….
Jelena took his hand and pulled her to him, wrapping her arms around his waist. She looked up to him with her large deep blue eyes. She undid his belt and let it fall to the floor. Next she began to unbutton his tunic, never taking her eyes from his. Then she loosened the strings on his leggings. Legolas quickly removed the tunic and kicked off his boots. He took Jelena in his arms and lifted her up. She wrapped her legs around him, feeling his hardness through his leggings. He kissed her neck, his lips burning a trail as he moved his way up to her earlobe.
Jelena licked and kissed her way down his neck, her hands under her trying desperately to pull his leggings down. She stuck her hands down the back of his leggings, grabbing hold of his firm cheeks. This brought a growl out of Legolas, and he pushed them down and kicked them across the room. Jelena raked her nails up his back until she reached his shoulders. She held onto his shoulders and pulled herself up, finding his mouth and locked onto his lips. His tongue was in her mouth in an instant, entwined with hers in an erotic dance.
Jelena could feel Legolas pressing against her, wanting to gain entrance. She lowered herself on to him, taking him into her all the way. Legolas groaned into her mouth. He moved his hands under her bottom, lifting her slowly and pushing back into her. He carried her to the bed and laid her down, never leaving her warm wetness. He stood next to the bed, with her legs wrapped around him, thrusting into her at a slow pace. He took one of her nipples into his mouth, playfully biting it and flicking it with his tongue, making her suck in her breath. Jelena thought she would scream. Her nipples were incredibly sensitive, almost painful. "Did I hurt you?" Legolas asked.
Jelena reached up and pulled him down, kissing him in response. She left his mouth and made her way up to his ear, flicking the tip with her tongue. Legolas moaned with pleasure, his thrusts becoming harder and faster. He moved his hand between her legs, finding her pleasure source. Jelena's hips bucked in response. Legolas smiled. "That's the spot, I guess!" he said, his fingers working magic on her.
Jelena ran her hands up Legolas' chest and played with his nipples. She pulled him down and nibbled in the tips, making Legolas moan. She looked up at him and smiled. She flicked it with the tip of her tongue, watching the expression on Legolas' face. He looked down at her with a lusty grin. She grasped the tip between her teeth and Legolas sucked in his breath. His fingers began to work quicker between her folds, making her jump.
Legolas could feel her passion building. He slid out of her and climbed onto the bed and pulled Jelena on top of him. She straddled him taking him deep inside once again. His hands found her breasts and he rolled the nipples between his fingers. Jelena flinched. "You are very sensitive," Legolas said, and took one in his mouth, gently, flicking it and sucking it. Jelena put her head back, her hair cascading down her back and tickling Legolas' thighs. Her hands were on Legolas' stomach and she rode him hard, her body glistening with sweat.
Legolas lifted her hips and brought her back down, his own orgasm mounting. His fingers went back to work on her nub, making Jelena's body shudder with release. Legolas felt her pulsing around his shaft and let himself go. Jelena collapsed into his arms and they held each other. Legolas sought out her lips and kissed her. "We have to get dressed! We are late for dinner!" he said.
They quickly got dressed and madetheir way towards the Upper Halls. They burst through the archway, hand and hand. Everyone was sitting around one of the long tables and Thranduil was at the head of the table. Jelena's feet locked up. "You are late!" Thranduil growled. They sat down at the table, Legolas next to his father and Jelena on the other side of Legolas next to an elf she had never seen before. Across the table was another on the other side of Lirimaer.
"You must be Jelena," the one next to her said. "I am Orophin and that funy-looking elf, is my brother, Rumil."
Rumil kicked him under the table. "We are brothers to Haldir. He of course is the OLDEST!" Rumil snickered. Haldir only returned a hard look.
"Now that everyone is here," Thranduil said, holding the scroll Celeborn had sent him in his hand, "I have an announcement to make."
