Notes: This story came about from several bunnies and my love/lust for Elrond and Haldir! It was to be a simple silly pwp, but angst is my middle name sooo it turned into something else. It is a story of love and the things that sometimes keep us from knowing how to love. Hope you all enjoy it.

Chapter Five
["Take me, I'll do anything. Don't hurt them. I'll do anything! ]
Haldir was screaming and crying. Elrond pulled him into his arms as he had done on many of the nights since the Lorien elf had been sick. He whispered and soothed until Haldir was quiet. Then he kissed his brow as he often did.
He was surprised when he looked into alert blue eyes. He was even more surprised when Haldir kissed him. But not surprised enough not to kiss back. They kissed for what seemed like a long time, Elrond's tongue slipping into Haldir's mouth when the blond elf parted his lips in invitation. The elflord's entire body responded when Haldir pressed his erection against him. Desire, hot and intense, ran through him, hardening him.
He shifted to unfasten the tunic Haldir wore, running his hands over the smooth expanse of chest beneath it, pulling him close and reveling the feel of the other elf's warm skin against his own chest. He knew he should get up now and go. But he couldn't. He wanted to feel Haldir's kisses and more than that. He wanted to look into those eyes as pleasure took Haldir. He wanted to be the one to make him feel that pleasure.
Elrond pushed the comforter back and pushed Haldir onto his back. He kissed that stubborn jaw and nipped the tip of one ear. He smiled at the way Haldir hissed and arched his back up. He slipped a hand down to lightly touch the bulge in Haldir's leggings.
"Tell me what you want, my naughty elf?"
Haldir just moaned as Elrond gently rolled him up onto his side. He wanted to kiss him all over, beginning with the nape of his neck. He pressed himself against the younger elf's naked back and sucked gently on the tip of his ears as his own hips moved against Haldir's ass. When the elflord moved his mouth to nibble a shoulder blade, Haldir stiffened and cried out, "NO!!"
Elrond stopped immediately.
"I can't… I don't want you to touch me. I'm dirty. I hate you! I've hated you since you took me back to Lothlórien. I was supposed to die." The last words came out in a harsh whisper.
Elrond held the stiff figure still, putting his arms around Haldir's chest and pulling him back against him.
"No, you were not supposed to die."
"I was meant to die. I wanted to die when it was over. You should not have saved me." He rolled over into Elrond's arms and sobbed like a child. Elrond held him and soothed him.
"I would save you again, little one. You did the bravest thing I have ever seen. Not many would sacrifice themselves as you did, not even for their brothers."
"I did not try to stop them. I let them do whatever they wanted." His voice dropped so low that Elrond had to strain to hear. "I did what they asked me to do."
"There is nothing wrong with that, Haldir. You did what you had to do."
"You would not leave it alone though. You saw what they did, you saw the brand and the cuts and where they… Elrond, why did you not let me go to Halls of Mandos?"
"You were so brave and had lived through it all. I wanted to make you stop hurting."
"You should have put a knife through my heart."
Elrond found himself crying too now. He smiled a little through his tears and said, "Then I would have missed knowing the most aggravating, arrogant elf in the world."
Haldir didn't say anything for a bit then he took a deep breath and began to talk. He lay there and between sobs, he poured out his ordeal, detail by excruciating detail. If Elrond had been horrified by what he knew before, he had no words to describe how he felt as the most beautiful elf he'd ever known told him his story. He wished it would be over. He was sure his heart would break as Haldir told him of horror and degradation he had not even been able to imagine.
Finally Haldir stopped talking and turned over with his back to Elrond. Elrond didn't know what to say, so he began to kiss the scars on Haldir's pale back. One by one he kissed them in the pale morning light. When he had kissed down to the top of loose trousers, he gently slipped them down. He kissed the tiny pawprint on the other elf's pale bottom, letting his tears drop on the little brand.
"Haldir, you were too precious then to let you die. I never knew of your shame. I only knew of your bravery. Every scar and mark on your body are signs of love and loyalty. Had you not done what they asked, they would have killed your brothers like they did your parents."
He held the weeping elf for a long time, until he could tell that Haldir finally rested.
